January is National Human Trafficking Awareness and Prevention Month, and NC Stop Human Trafficking is geared up for a month full of education, community empowerment and advocacy.
We are further emboldened to do the best work we can after learning of the tragic passing of a 16-year-old girl in Greenville, N.C., who was being trafficked for sex at the time of her death. This abuse can be prevented, and we all have a part to play in the long game of primary prevention and in victim restoration.
NC Stop Human Trafficking is inviting you to the table to help end this great injustice, from attending our free virtual education sessions to sharing our social media graphics on your channels to becoming a member of this organization, there are ways big or small that you can help end human trafficking.

North Carolina nonprofits, NGOs and government bodies have worked for more than 10 years on reducing and ultimately eliminating human trafficking in the state. The network of service providers is broad as well as the body of legislation surrounding human trafficking. This session will look at how far North Carolina has come in the anti-human trafficking movement, and how far the state still has to go. Our founder Pam Strickland will be presenting this session.
